7:30 PM – 8:45 PM
A big thanks to NIMBA for sharing access to this event with us.
--
Dr Laura Conway of Infant Sleep Australia will cover sleep & settling for some of our youngest members - our toddlers (12 - 36 months).
With thanks to the Inger Rice Foundation, this session will cover information about sleep in toddlers aged 12 - 36 months, common sleep difficulties (eg bedtime resistance, split nights) and provide practical strategies to address these difficulties tailored to families with multiples.
The presentation will run for approximately 45mins plus up to 30mins for Q&A.
Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, first class honours and a PhD in Early Childhood Development. She is an Honorary Fellow at the Department of Paediatrics, University of Melbourne, and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Royal Children’s Hospital. She is a mother of two.
Dr Laura Conway (PhD) is passionate about supporting parents whose babies have sleep problems. She draws on her expertise in early child development and paediatric sleep to work alongside families to address their child’s sleep difficulties. Laura ensures the latest research evidence is embedded in the advice and support she provides to families. Laura can help children aged 0-5 who: - have problems settling to sleep, - wake frequently overnight, - resist going to bed e.g., using stalling tactics, or - wake up too early in the morning. Laura enjoys helping parents to improve their child’s sleep and watching the positive changes that follow for the whole family. She helps tired parents build strong relationships with their babies and children.

KEW TRAFFIC SCHOOL EVENT 25th FEBRUARY
Kew Traffic School
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
CAMBA is welcoming everyone into 2024 with one of our favourite events of the year! Kew Traffic school is one of the events that really sets the club up for the year, not only in helping the cub fundraise money BUT more importantly being able to get together with friends and family after the break. We have the 4pm session, so this means we can provide dinner in the form of a sausage sizzle!!
Kew Traffic School is full of roads, roundabouts, intersections, traffic lights, street signs, railway crossings and mini trams. It is a great place for children aged between 2 and 10 years to gain confidence and develop road safety skills, away from the dangers of real traffic, BUT we also want to see those with multiples under 2 come along as well. There is plenty of grassy undercover areas to put a picnic rug out, even if it's only for one hour. Bring along grandparents to help as well. The more the merrier!
The track is suitable for bikes, scooters and ride-on pedal cars. It’s important to note:- children need to bring their own bicycle or scooter and helmet. Carers or parents must stay and supervise their children.
CAMBA has organised lots of fun things for the day... including a sausage sizzle which means dinner is served!, fundraising activities for the kids, plus much more....... so please bring along Gold Coins or notes are also welcome ;)

CAMBA School Starters information night
Bowen Street Community Centre
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Have your kids started school this year, or will they be starting in 2024/2025?
CAMBA are hosting an evening for parents to catch up and discuss all things related to starting school. It’s a big moment for kids and parents, and this is an opportunity to meet other parents, discuss any concerns, and share ideas about multiples and singletons starting school.
If your children started school recently, this is a chance to discuss how things are going. Perhaps you’ve had some issues that you’re struggling to solve. Maybe you’ve got some great ideas to share with those about to start school.
If your children are about to embark on their primary school journey, come along and ask those burning questions and learn from those who have experienced the high and lows!
It is an opportunity for parents to connect and talk about their concerns, share our collective knowledge, and hopefully meet other local parents whose children are going to the same school as yours.
We will also have a 'parent panel' made up of CAMBA members. All these members have a range of school years and experiences under their belt, and are excited to share their learnings!
Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
Register your attendance by clicking on the 'Get Ticket' link here! RSVP by the 8th November so we can arrange food accordingly.
*Please note that this is not a 'school readiness' seminar.
